GRACE:

noun...1. seemingly effortless beauty or charm of movement, form, or proportion.

Grace Gardens is...

This blog's purpose is for me to keep a garden journal of sorts. To detail some of the things that I accomplish in the garden and a little of what I do in my home as well. It will also be a place where I will post the photos that I love to take so much. Maybe a place to post my overflowing of pictures that I particularly like or find artistic. Some posts will be wordy...and some may have no conversation at all. Just a post to bring back to mind a lovely day or a meaningful memory. I have disabled the comments on this blog, but feel free to e-mail me for any questions about what you see here. My e-mail address can be found in my profile.

My December garden today...

Nothing but rain here
and I am loving it!

Nothing to shovel
No snow boots to wear
No slipping on the ice

Rose hips for a lovely pop of color.

I can't believe we still have leaves on the rosebushes, especially green ones!

The glory of Autumn.

I wanted to share a few photos of how the garden colored up this fall.

The crab apples were loaded this year and it has made the birds very
happy so far this fall. Almost everyday they are filled with birds
getting the energy they need to get through this cold weather.
In total we have nine crab apple trees in the garden
along with eight chokecherry and  three elderberry.
Lots of food for the little feathered friends that visit here.

Hopefully
this guy will leave them alone.

 and this one.

I don't think I will be using this any more this year. Time to put the pins away.

About fifteen miles from our house is forty acres where our horses pasture in the
spring, summer and fall.

I was a little late getting here to take photos of the aspen trees as they colored for Autumn,
but they still look pretty enough for me.

This is my tiny little shack in the woods. My daughter and I painted it red this summer
and now it will show up beautifully in the snow.

I love this place!
Next year I am hoping to redecorate the little shack.
I will share photos when I do.

Views of the garden in August

Wanted to post some of the photos I have been taking in the garden this August.

I'm not going to do much talking in this post
but I did want to share some of the millions of shots I have of recent blooms

I love it when the garden phlox blooms

Isn't it hard to believe that Summer is almost gone?

For those of us who live in the mountains, it's hard to let it go,
but I sure understand why many of you are happy to see the cooler
weather return.

Thank you stopping by today!
